Can RP use MIDI filters / effects.?

Is it possible to use .dll midi filters and effects from cubase or other sources?

How can midi routing be done say 1 or 2 midi keyboards outputting 3 midi channels each split in to keyboard note zones/midi channels, where you need to set up keyboard zones and send different keyboard zones set to different midi channels to different vst instruments having some vst's play 2 zones and others overlapping.

Are there plans to write modules for these type midi functions or Is there a way to use existing .dll midi filter/effects?

I thought I read of RP being able to do this somewhere

THanks

Thanks

Jeff,

This is indeed an important currently missing feature and we're glad you pointed it out, as you might perhaps help us define its scope and implementation details.

What we have in mind for Rack Performer (it might be slightly different in Live Factory) would be an additional entry in the module context menu, just below "Receive MIDI...", and that entry would be called "Filter MIDI...".

At first it would have two sub-menu items: "Notes range" and "Notes transpose". The first one would allow to define the accepted notes range for any MIDI input received by the module (ex: from C2 to C4) and the second would allow to transpose (offset) all notes received (allowing for instance to receive from C2 to C4 but play it like if it was C4 to C6)

Proper MIDI modules (like in Cubase) could be added later on as extra entries below those two ones (ex: insert new MIDI module) but this won't be implemented before 1.0, whereas the two default filters cited above could be done anytime soon.

Would that cover all your needs? Any other suggestion?
